Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Cracking few days getting the dog out in the AM... plenty of other people over the country park getting exercise walking dogs etc... sensible social distancing whilst still doing something that is necessary and more importantly... normal

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
I encountered way less people in the forest than my local supermarket.

If I wasn’t on holiday next week, I’d be going to work in the city.

So you've all been out, and seen other people out.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
We took the short drive to the forest yesterday and couldn't believe how busy it was. The green hut was rammed with more bikers than ever and High Beach was like nothing I've seen before. We were hoping for an isolated stroll by starting from one of the little car parks around Claypit Hill but the Corporation has closed them all so it was bumper to bumper from the HB hut and the visitor centre all the way to Mott Street. Fuck that for a game of soldiers. A brisk walk around TK Maxx would have been more remote.

Went on to Gunpowder Park which was thankfully pretty sparse and we managed a half hour stroll on the grass and trails without being within thirty yards of anyone else. But from now on, just the back garden for family fresh air.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Jokes, stewie son.

People out who’ve clearly never done a days walking in their life, at a loss what to do, because Westfield is shut. Managed to find a little part of the forest with no fucker in it.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
simon - popped back to loughton yesterday to see the olds and drop in some bits for them and the car parks between loughton and the wake arms were overflowing, people actually parked out on the road. Fucking idiots

Simon I agree thanks to the selfish attitude of scum it's now time to lockdown

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Well that’s down the the government, Ern.

Proper lockdowns needed. Epping Forest round my way yesterday was the busiest I’ve ever seen it. This weather is certainly not helping.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Probably didn't quite come out how I wanted - although happy enough with it - people are making their own choices. As long as they accept responsibility for the outcome of those choices, then it's all perfectly civilised.

FWIW, I think we would be more likely to see social unrest in an enforced lockdown, removing that choice is more likely to get backs up

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Alright griff!

For me it tends to depend on the intention of the post. If it’s just pure divvy selfishness, like in the case of many, I suppose nobody is likely to treat it as a standard of behaviour, so it’s all Cool and the Gang, innit.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
I don't think a single person who is acting like a berk at present is thinking about political activism, pickle son.

Their prerogative. As long as they only kill themselves and their family members, I'm not really bothered.

Sorry - perhaps one start too many there :)

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
The level of selfishness some display on here is actually endearing.

Nothing wrong with it at all as long as it’s just talk on a footy club message board. Problem starts when it starts taking the form of political activism and starts influencing real-life attitudes and behaviour. When people start dying properly in the next few weeks, it’ll all become a lot clearer if you are still struggling with these concepts now.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Trust me, when masses of people start dying and the NHS gets completely overwhelmed, staying at home won't seem such a bad option.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
Who’d be in trouble if a pub was open?

The landlord or customers?

And what would be the punishment?

My mates opening his pub.

Re: Who's off to the pub this weekend?
People getting pissed (pun intended) with those ignoring the advice to avoid social interaction better used to more and more doing so the longer this goes on.

Expecting people to basically be on house arrest will soon have big numbers getting restless and starting to cause social unrest.

Then we're talking about the army getting involved and it getting proper messy.

It's a hard call but I think the attempt to save a small minority will end up causing much more damage to society in the long run than the virus if it had been left to run its course. Even my old man who is high risk doesn't think it's the right approach and his words, 'the old should be the cannon fodder in this war'.
